We had a fantastic visit yesterday with retired sea lion ( and elephant ) trainer Jim Alexander. He is an encyclopedia of history for the St. Louis Zoo, where I grew up and my father worked as the third and last elephant trainer. I love the jackpots he shares of many animal handlers, circus and zoo alike.
